Hema Ramanathan firmly believes that the arts encourage students to channel their energies in constructive forms and provide a non-verbal vocabulary for expression. She is a life-long student of the arts, a constructively critical audience, and preferably a behind-the-scenes organizer rather than an on-stage performer. As a teacher and teacher educator for over 40 years, she has included the arts as a process and a product in her pedagogy: interpreting literature through films and storytelling, and performing poetry with music.
Ankur Ahuja is an International award winning cinematographer, editor & Artist Illustrator and has been in the field of filmmaking for over 2 decades. From documentaries to Bollywood films, she has shot several award winning and acclaimed films.
Roohi Dixit is an award-winning Indian filmmaker, screenwriter, and director. Her work centres around short and long form traversing fiction, nonfiction, and experimental cinema. R.V. Ramani is an award-winning filmmaker, cinematographer and a teacher. He makes documentary films that explore artists and artistic practice. A graduate in Physics, his passion for photography, made him choose photojournalism as a career working in Mumbai. He later graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, specialising in Motion Picture Photography.
Kabir Kidwai is an Independent filmmaker and a cinematography student at Symbiosis. He was first in to theatre but then slowly reclined to films. His debut film was Sanjhi, a festival that took place every year in his school.
RV Ramani will speak about his associations with artists and how it shapes his work.

In this session Ankur will demystify the process of filmmaking and talk about how to actively engage with Films in order to better appreciate them. She will pick up a few tools that will help us analyse films and understand filmmaking a little bit better.
There is sound in mostly each and every film made today; enriching and setting the mood of the film, delivering emotional responses and much more.
The importance of sound design in a film is of paramount importance.
